Hunger Games Challenge: Favorite thing about the series/ recs for fans
My favorite thing about the entire series was how important small things like fashion, bread and the mockingjay pin were throughout all the books. Cinna’s designs transformed Katniss into a good tribute, and as the mockingjay. His clothes meant a lot to her and I just found that really cool throughout the whole books.
I liked that a gift from Madge, a random girl from Katniss’s school ended up meaning so much to her. It was a big gesture for Madge to give her the pin for good luck, and it ended up meaning so much to Katniss and it really did help her in the games.
Bread may have been my favorite symbol of all. Not only did Peeta give Katniss bread that saved her life, and made him stick out in her mind, but the bread that District 11 sent to Katniss may have been the most beautiful scene from anything I’ve read.
A book I would recommend is the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield. It’s another dystopian series and I’m almost done with the first book and I love the main character Tally and another character named David. They’re somewhat like Katniss and Peeta and I think its a pretty good book to read after reading the hunger games.
Sorry this is a lot later than my other challenges, I really wanted to think about this one and with the movie coming out so soon I’ve got hunger games fever!
