Don’t get left in the dark
I wrote this on another blog last year. This is my “something personal” so I’m just going to copy/paste and put it on this blog.
I feel like Trueblood has taught me a lot about life. Unfortunately most of it I can never use in real life because its mostly knowledge about vampire politics.
Recently Sookie was in a coma and she dreamt that she was garden with a bunch of women who were all dressed up and stuff and it looked like they were having a great time. Once Bill gave Sookie his blood which she needed to survive they said “don’t let him steal your light.” I thought these words were very interesting.
Now I don’t exactly know what is going on in trueblood that made the women say that. (actually I kinda do cause my friend told me the end of the books, but who knows, could be different on the show.) What I do know is that that is probably the most useful advice anyone can get. You shouldn’t let anyone steal your “light.”
Everyone has some “light” and without it, you’re completely left in the dark. I know because sadly I’ve been there. I’ve been in the dark with the person that took my light not really caring if I ever make it out. And its honestly the worst feeling in the world. But no one that leaves you in the dark is worth your “light” so make sure you don’t give it.
Anyway I’m pretty tired and I’m not sure that exactly makes that much sense to anyone else, but don’t let anyone get you down. Keep shining as brightly as you always do. If someone leaves you in the dark with no apology, TAKE YOUR LIGHT BACK and screw them. You probably don’t deserve to be in the dark.
